WILL SOLOMON British

Will Solomon’s practice extends across painting, sculpture, wearable art and NFTs.

He is primarily concerned with an exploration of the patterns and textures found both in nature and the built environment. Visual material such as architectural details, brickwork, bark and tree branches filter into his work. Whilst also drawing on music, fashion and a background in street graffiti; his mark-making channeling from “the beat and rhythm of strong energetic instrumentals, for example violin with a modern hip hop twist.”

Solomon's paintings are often constructed from a variety of media, including paint, raw pigments, rock salt, lichen, pumice and sand. This focus on texture, and an equal concern for the way light interacts with these surfaces, lends his work a modernist quality whilst remaining true to his street art roots. A series of blue monochrome sculptures made from tree branches mounted on oak plinths brings to mind the found-object sculptures of Yves Klein or the Monster Field photographs of Paul Nash.

In 2008 Solomon was the youngest ever artist to be invited to “Upfest", the internationally renowned festival of urban art held annually in Bristol, U.K. His “Artwear” collection was launched at Harvey Nichols in London in 2020. “Artwear” boldly blurs the boundary between art and fashion in the tradition of Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol. He has created bespoke pieces for important private collections, as well as for celebrity clients from the music industry, fashion and football.

His work has been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout the U.K.,  including; Arx Gallery, Knightsbridge, London (2022 / 2021); Spring Affordable Art Fair, Battersea, London; Hampstead Affordable Art Fair, London (2022/2023); Autumn Exhibition, NoonPowell Gallery, Notting Hill, London (2021); Fair Director's - Top Picks at The Affordable Art Fair, Battersea, London - NoonPowell Gallery stand (2021);  Adlib Gallery (2020/2021); Senesi Contemporanea, Mayfair, London (2020). Linda Bird Ltd (2018); Dysart, Petersham (2017); Harvey Nichols, London (2017); Linda Bird Ltd (2016).

Will Solomon's work is included in private and celebrity collections throughout the U.K and internationally.
