 "Francisco Benitez, contemporary painter, is one of the greatest exponents of the new international “Pittura Colta” movement. With a figurative style having roots in Hellenistic art and the Italian hyperrealist influence of the Caravaggesque school, he shapes his works by mastering ancient techniques (such as oil or encaustic) and bending them to inexhaustible imaginative possibilities, giving us contrasts, unexpected and surprising shapes and shades of color. Benitez immerses the portraits in Surrealist Metaphysical atmospheres, achieving very personal, unique, and recognizable results".
