Spanish multi-media artist Cristina Ramos (b. 1986) studied Fine Art at Felipe Segundo, University of Madrid, Spain (2007-2010) and University of Thessaloniki, Greece (2010-2012).
The art of storytelling underpins Ramos's vision. Her compositions, both in her paintings and in her photography, take on dream-like qualities and evoke an uncanny fluidity between fiction and the edges of reality. Theatrical scenarios capture moments that dance around a sense of ambiguity, inviting the viewer to look more closely and see what they may discover. To Ramos, it acts as a form of healing therapy, allowing her to materialise her imagination into powerful visualised narratives, and encouraging the viewer to unpick metaphors and perhaps spot signs that unearth something from within their deeper selves. As Ramos has said herself, ”Art is a mirror for the creator, and for the observer.”
